Connecting Academia and Industry: GLA Delegation at American University of Sharjah (AUS), College of Engineering

As part of the GLA Dubai Delegation, we had the privilege of visiting the American University of Sharjah (AUS), College of Engineering on this inspiring trip.
We were warmly welcomed onto campus, where we had the opportunity to engage with esteemed professors and meet with Dr. Fadi Aloul, Dean of Engineering at AUS. The conversations delved into the university’s cutting-edge research, innovative approaches to engineering education, and the ways academia is shaping the future of mobility, technology, and infrastructure across the region.
The visit offered a unique perspective on how universities and industry can collaborate to address emerging challenges, drive innovation, and prepare the next generation of engineers and leaders. From discussions on sustainable infrastructure to insights on smart mobility solutions, every conversation reinforced the importance of partnerships that bridge knowledge, technology, and global leadership.

We are deeply grateful to Dr. Fadi Aloul, PhD, CISSP, for his leadership and for welcoming us to AUS.
Thank you also to our GLA delegates — Shawn Sanford, Theodora Oyie, Sam Hassoun, Ehab Hasan, Andy Palanisamy, Scott Rawlins, Jonalyn Grageda, and Tony Tavares — for representing GLA and engaging so thoughtfully in these meaningful discussions.
Building partnerships like these is at the heart of GLA’s mission—connecting visionaries, sharing knowledge, and shaping better futures together.
